Third Floor Walls

You won't really be able to tell much difference in the pictures, but the concrete has been poured into the third floor walls!

These pictures show the empty 3rd floor styrofoam forms in place and waiting for the pour.

Our builder advised that a concrete truck came to pour the walls but the pumper truck never showed up, so an entire truck of concrete was wasted.

The builder told us that the pumper truck and concrete trucks were scheduled for 11:00 AM on Monday.  They were late arriving, so we took the opportunity to make the treacherous climb up the ladder to get a peek at the 3rd floor.

The pumper truck finally arrived, followed by the first of four concrete trucks.

The concrete was pumped into the walls in the same manner as before, using the vibrator to make sure that the concrete was distributed to the hard to reach areas under the windows.

The next step will be putting the flat roof on. The builder advised that there will be a poured-in-place beam to support the roof.

We asked the builder if he was on time for completing the project as estimated.  He was pretty non-committal but we are still hopeful that we will have our certificate of occupancy by the end of the year.  Fingers crossed!

Stay tuned!
