Legoland! A house built from styrofoam!

For the longest time, it looked like nothing was happening, but now it is starting to look like a house, albeit a styrofoam house.

The concrete beams that would support the first living level were poured.

4/21/2018

The beams cured for a few days, then the wood framing was removed.

4/24/2018

More curing for the beams.

Delivery of parts for the Hambro Flooring system.

Preparing to pour the concrete for the first living level (referred to as the second floor by the builder and architect).  Temporary supports and plywood between the joists were installed.

4/30/2018

It took a few days to get the floor prepared for the concrete to be poured.

I climbed up on what would be our deck to see what our view from the first living level will look like.

5/7/2018

The floor still wasn't quite ready to be poured.  Plastic was laid over the plywood.

5/10/2018

Still no concrete floor yet...

5/18/2018

We went to France and missed the pouring of the floor.  Our neighbor sent us a text message with a picture of our newly poured concrete floor.

5/19/2018

Another text message from our neighbor showing our new concrete floor.

5/21/2018

Another text from our neighbor showed us that the LOGIX ICF forms that would be the insulation for the concrete walls arrived!

5/22/2018

We were still in France, so my sister who was pet sitting for us sent us more pictures of the ICF Forms.

5/27/2018

We got back from France and hurried down to see the progress on the house!  The forms were starting to look like walls!  They fit together like legos.

Pipes were placed in the concrete where the kitchen sink would be.

5/28/2018

11:41AM It is starting to get fun to watch now as the walls go up.

8:18PM Lots of progress between noon and 8PM!

5/29/2018

It won't be long now until they are ready to pour the concrete!

Stay tuned!
