Concrete Walls!

Things are moving right along now!  Seems like something is happening every day!

Our builder let us know that the concrete trucks were on their way so we headed over to watch, but the trucks ran into traffic on I-95.  So we waited...

The first concrete truck showed up, but the pumper truck had not arrived yet.  The pumper truck got there a few minutes later.

The pumper truck got in position, then the concrete truck backed up to it and started pouring concrete into the hopper.  The pumper truck started pumping, filling up the walls.

We watched from our neighbors' deck.  It took four concrete trucks to fill the walls.  That's a lot of concrete!

The pumper reached over the house to pour concrete beneath the windows.  The workers poked a concrete vibrator into the hole to make sure the concrete was distributed to all the cracks & crevices.

We waited a few days and then stopped by to knock on the walls to make sure they are solid!

They had removed the plywood from the bottom of the first floor, exposing the concrete ceiling of the garage.

Tony is showing how the insulated forms are constructed to hold the concrete.

You can't really tell any difference from looking but the walls are now filled with concrete.  You can knock on them and they feel solid!

They have started to place the Hambro flooring system for the next floor above.

They are using reusing the plywood from the first floor as the base to pour the next floor.

The 6 foot third floor concrete deck will be cantilevered also.  The supports they are putting in place will be removed once the floor and deck have been poured.

Showing off our home to friends who are down for the weekend.  The entry stairs are a bit inconvenient right now!

Looks like everything is almost ready for pouring the 3rd floor and deck!

 Moving right along!  Stay tuned!
