So much is happening so quickly, I am having to take multiple trips per day to the house to see what is new! March 10, 2019 3:30PM We finished assembling the back steps.  They will hold up to 800 pounds so we will have to go up and down them single file. They had to poke a hole in the beautiful new sheetrock to put in a temporary beam to allow them to get the floating staircase support mounted. March 11, 2019 11:30AM The workers stood on a sagging board while they mounted the stair supports on the floating staircase beam.  I was so afraid it would break and they would fall two stories! The tile installers started putting down the Schluter Ditra tile underlayment.  This is supposed to prevent the tile and grout from cracking. The shower floor and drain in the 2nd floor master was installed. March 12, 2019 9:00AM The Stucco crew showed up in force! We don't think we'll make the end of March (the latest prediction from the builder), but maybe by the end of April, fingers crossed! February 20, 2019 The sheetrock team started putting up the sheetrock! February 21, 2019 The floating stairs were delivered.  It took several men to carry the support beam into the garage. February 25, 2019 I went over to see how the sheetrock installation was going and I found a little visitor in the house!  A tiny screech owl was perched on the wall of the 3rd floor shower! As I got closer, he flew to several windows and then settled himself on top of the step ladder in the guest bedroom. Tony and I tried to get him to fly out a window but he decided to fly into the craft room and hang from a wire. We finally got him to fly out the double doors on the front of the house. Who knew Lionel Richie sang a song about Stucco ?  January 10, 2019 Our third trip to Floor and Decor, we went ahead and purchased the tile so that we wouldn't run the risk of it being out of stock.  We will have it delivered to the house when the installers are ready. January 11, 2019 The plumbing was finished and testing was done. Knapp Stucco company dropped off scaffolding. January 16, 2019 Scaffolding was set up and preparation for applying stucco to the parapet walls began. January 18, 2019 A styrofoam layer was applied to the top of the parapet walls. January 19, 2019 The exterior of the concrete blocks of the parapet wall and garage level were prepared for stucco. January 20, 2019 We chose the colors for the exterior.  The house will be "Greek Villa" white.  The garage doors and window trim will match the dome, "Blue Chip".
