Who knew Lionel Richie sang a song about Stucco ?  January 10, 2019 Our third trip to Floor and Decor, we went ahead and purchased the tile so that we wouldn't run the risk of it being out of stock.  We will have it delivered to the house when the installers are ready. January 11, 2019 The plumbing was finished and testing was done. Knapp Stucco company dropped off scaffolding. January 16, 2019 Scaffolding was set up and preparation for applying stucco to the parapet walls began. January 18, 2019 A styrofoam layer was applied to the top of the parapet walls. January 19, 2019 The exterior of the concrete blocks of the parapet wall and garage level were prepared for stucco. January 20, 2019 We chose the colors for the exterior.  The house will be "Greek Villa" white.  The garage doors and window trim will match the dome, "Blue Chip". Lots of things have been happening since I last posted.  Most of it is things that aren't very interesting to the casual observer, like plumbing and electrical, but we were excited!  Work went on, even during the holidays!  We had an incident during a gale storm with the dome getting blown off of the roof, but it has been repaired and now it is mounted atop the elevator! December 14, 2018 Progress on Plumbing and Electrical           December 17, 2018 Doors on the garage level were installed.  There are 5 doors on the garage level.  One from the toy garage to the atrium, one from the car garage to the stairwell, one from the atrium to the stairwell, one from the car garage to the wine cellar and one from the atrium to the elevator.           December 18, 2018 The rest of the glass doors on the back of the house were being installed. The doors are being installed right now!  Things are really starting to happen!  You have probably figured out that the house is not going to be ready by the original estimated completion date (mid-November) since it has come and gone.  The builder has given us a new estimate of the end of March.  I'm concerned about how close that is to April Fool's Day.  Hope he's not planning an April Fool's Joke on us! November 21, 2018 We ordered a gate for the front entrance.  Our Greek style exterior calls for a blue dome over the elevator, blue garage doors and blue trim around the windows.  We wanted the gate to match, so we are having it powder coated.  Tony ordered samples of the powder coat colors. We chose rainbow blue (the second from the right).  Its really hard to tell from the pictures but we hope it will look okay.
